Mazda CX-50 2022 New Car. The new cx-50 is a car that’s designed to bring the premium Mazda philosophy to the mid-sized suv segment but unfortunately, it’s not coming to Australia but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t give us some ideas about what’s to come in the future from Mazda’s cx premium range and that’s what we’re going to talk about in starting with the design of the Mazda cx-50 then.

We’re going to have a little chat about what it could mean for the future and also the potential of a hybrid powertrain for Mazda so what exactly is the Mazda cx-50 well tom talked about the whole cx double numerical range a little while ago and where it’s going with Mazda’s premium philosophy but the cx-50 is sort of the start of that.
It’s the start of Mazda’s premium push into the larger suv segment and that’s because it sits on actually the slightly older Mazda platform that underpins the small cars like the Mazda 3 the Mazda cx-30 and the Mazda MX-30 this isn’t on the new longitudinal architecture yet that’s going to underpin the cx60 70 and 90 but we can glean a couple of things from this.
Vehicle’s design for a start it looks very much like a Mazda cx-5 if you don’t look too closely however when you get up close and you look at the details of the cx-50 you notice there’s a whole lot more rugged intention about this car and its sort of really pitched at that off-road kind of lifestyle buyer it’s got bigger chunkier tires you’ve got a roof rack with a kayak on top and I think it does something nice but.
New Vehicle Or Rather Just A Mazda CX-50
Whether it’s a whole new vehicle or rather just a Mazda cx-5 facelift in my book I’m not entirely sure you can let me know what you think of the looks in the comments section down below but jumping inside the interior we can see how Mazda has updated their ongoing design language now the cx50 doesn’t totally issue.
The usual Mazda theme of having a rotary dial and a non-touchscreen interface it keeps that and it’s the same hardware and all the same hardpoints from the cx-30 and the MX-30 including the 12.3-inch display however there are a couple of new touches for example the brown leather which I think looks rad again let me know.
What you think and there’s also a couple of cool touches including vertically orientated air vents which are a little bit different and it certainly shows that Mazda’s willing to experiment on things but the big thing I can take from this is it’s not a new vehicle and of course it’s not going to come to Australia but now we’re going to talk about.
Mazda Going In The Future With The New CX60 70 and 90
What it could mean for the future of Mazda cx in Australia is the organic sort of egg shape of the cx-5 has been lost somewhat in the cx-50 and I reckon that’s the way we’re going to continue to see Mazda going in the future with the new cx60 70 and 90. all of those are going to be more likely to come to Australia so we can expect.
This rugged tough looking vehicle to be a little bit more common coming out of master showrooms whether that’s a good thing or not again let me know in the comments section down below but I do think the proportions are going to evolve positively as well as we transition to a new longitudinal architecture which means Mazda’s bringing back the straight-six.
This is awesome but this car doesn’t have a straight-six, in fact, it just uses the ongoing Mazda engines now the start um Mazda has confirmed that in the USA the cx-50 will be available with the 170 kilowatts and 420-newton meter 2.5-liter turbocharged engine hooked up to a six-speed automatic transmission but they’ve also hinted that.
A USA Only Car The CX-50
This car could come with a hybrid powertrain and that’s a really interesting little tidbit because being a USA only car the cx-50 is produced in us only at Mazda slash Toyota’s Huntsville Alabama plant and as far as I’m aware this is going to be the first Mazda to come out of that factory and it’s going to roll out alongside.
The small Toyota corolla cross suv itself will be available with a hybrid powertrain but like the cx-50 hybrid’s not available at launch so this sort of leaves the option open that perhaps we might see Mazda cx-50 adopt the powertrain from the Toyota corolla cross this means we could see something like a 1.8-liter hybrid system that we see in the Australian market corolla featuring in the.
New mazda cx-50 or potentially we could see the larger rav4’s 2.5 litre hybrid powertrain with its extra grunt featuring in this car but all of that is speculation and we’ll have to see because at the moment it does rather look like that the hybrid might just mean the cx50 is going to adopt the same sort of mild hybrid technology found in the mazda cx-30 and mazda mx30 but.
