Audi SQ5 Sportback 2022 Review The Best Car. Now Audi says the q5 Sportback has been several years in the making but given that the current generation q5 came out in 2017 and it’s now nearly 2022 I would suggest that the Sportback version of this car may have been after the fact rather than holistically with the design as with the q3 Sportback and the Audi e-Tron now.
This SQ5 Here It Is Kind Of As Per The Facelifted SQ5 Wagon
The Audi e-Tron Sportback version is outselling the wagon in Australia whereas the q3 Sportback is dead even with the wagon so 50 of the volume so kind of makes sense commercially to do a Sportback version of the q5 which has long been Audi’s best-selling suv but is currently second behind the q3 so what you’re looking at here is apparently from scratch.
But I think that it’s been developed later on in the model’s life as we shall see when we get around the back at the front of this sq5 here it is kind of as per the facelifted sq5 wagon that appeared earlier in 2021 so we have the latest generation of audio matrix led headlights with specifics signature in them look it doesn’t matter what it looks like they always look cool on an Audi and these look particularly cool like.
The q3 Sportback this q5 Sportback or sq5 has this honeycomb grille here which looks good they made a big point about having the camera embedded very closely into the grille here so you can’t see that such kind of sensor crap going on in the cameras down here and another one on that side plus.
This SQ5 And This All And Also Has An 1100 Black Pack
The parking sensors are all embedded pretty nicely in this sq5 and this all and also has an 1100 black pack which makes the grille and these inserts and a whole bunch of other stuff the mirror caps all black which is personally my option but then the mount aluminum ones don’t look that bad either I’d still pay eleven hundred dollars one thing you don’t have to pay extra for though are these Audi sport five-spoke v-spoke 21-inch alloys.
The standard ones are in a matte grey with like a sort of a pattern finish on the outside whereas these are partly polished and anthracite black underneath they’re the same ones as worn by the blue q5 we also filmed today but behind these are 370-millimeter discs which are as per the rs5 with six-piston calipers with these cool red calipers so.
There’s more going on behind the wheel but they are nice wheels they do have pearly p0 tires too which are really good quality and great as we shall discover when we drive it now where I wanted to point out the parts of the q5 or sq5 Sportback being similar to the wagon as it audi said all the changes are from the b-pillar back and so this point right here is the same as on the wagon and I would suggest that much like myself.
The SQ5 Sportback Probably Needs A Bit Of A Haircut
The sq5 Sportback probably needs a bit of a haircut because I think it’s a little bit too tall here and so then when it starts to drop at the back it just doesn’t quite have that elegance that the q3 Sportback has and that thee-Tron Sportback has and the original sports packs like the a5 and the a7 and stuff this is a little bit awkward.

Which is a pearlescent paint no-cost option on the sq5 does look good one thing that is cool on this particular sq5 Sportback though are these OLED rear lights now they change the shape of what’s inside them depending on the drive mode because they’re digital but they are a 2 500 option and this one also has adaptive air suspension sport.
This Is Slightly Unusual It Does Have An Electric Tailgate
Which is only 2 250 so the lights cost more than the fancy air suspension which is rather startling at the back here the black pack also gets this little black panel through here and also has black down here and while this has signature s badged quad tailpipes they have nothing in them they just have chalk in them they’re just there for garnish.
This is slightly unusual it does have an electric tailgate though and inside here we have a 500-liter boot which is good we have a tie-down cargo net and because we have the adaptive air suspension we can also raise and lower it to a small extent depending on what you need to get in the car I suppose sitting at it watching kid sport and stuff.
You could have a better position by adjusting your seat love this polished section through here it’s lovely Audi says that when you lower the seats which you do by these little levers here and here that it has 1470 liters of space which is better than its rivals which are Mercedes GLC coupe and bmw x4 and I suppose like those two kupo SUVs the wagon version looks better that’s certainly my opinion please let us know.
The SQ5 Doesn’t Bring A Whole Lot To The SQ5 Party
What you think I think to save the money in by the wagon but not everyone thinks that way anyway let’s see what it’s like inside sitting in the front seat of the sq5 doesn’t bring a whole lot to the sq5 party because it has the same amount of room as the wagon which is great but it is lots like heaps I suppose for me at five foot ten and this seat is as low as it’ll go which is still not mega low but.
I feel like they could have dropped the roof a little bit but then I get that that costs money as for looking like it costs money this interior still does nail it it is a 2017 circa interior and there have been a few changes in recent times mainly this larger screen that is all touch screen getting rid of the old mmi from here.
That you used to be able to rest your hand on there and do that now you’ve just got this weird little thing that looks like it should be an ashtray and maybe it could be if you just sat there and ashed in it someone in Italy will be doing that but um I feel like that’s a bit of a waste opportunity we have wireless charging here which is on this little pad here which you can slide forward and go over the cup holders like that and have this sort of a hidden bit of room here or you can slide it back to have your drinks in front.
Which is kind of cool you can’t lift it out or if you can i’d probably break it now what all of this is connected to is one of the stars of this interior and that is the standard audio system it is a bang olufsen 3d surround sound setup it has 19 speakers including a subwoofer it has a 16 channel amplifier 755 watts and little lights and speakers in the front doors and what all that does is sound friggin amazing i love it it’s one of the best stereos on the market and it’s great that it’s standard in this car although this car does cost one hundred and ten thousand nine hundred dollars.
